A Dog Rescue's Us as Much as we Rescue A Dog
By Labradors in need June 20, 2019
So, ever wondered how you can help Labradors in Need? Short of time to make a commitment of direct help? Strapped for cash because your own dogs are spoilt? πŸ˜‚ Maybe you have health issues that mean you can't be 'hands on' with the rescue. BUT there are many different ways you can help: * Could you spare just £1 a month? * Could you buy your dog treats, toys and supplements from or website or Facebook shops? * Why not use easyfundraising or smile. amazon for your online shopping and set them for LiN as your chosen charity *Maybe you could volunteer just the odd hour to help with home checks and transport? *What about auctions and raffles? There are always mini raffles going on, currently with Radley items, and auctions are held monthly, except when funds are needed for the dogs. There are auctions running periodically, and we have an auction running at the moment. Please follow this link to join the auction page https://www.facebook.com/groups/1586538281583086/?ref=group_header *could you sponsor one of our 12 long term foster dogs? You can sponsor a long term foster either by monthly direct debit or by one off sponsorship. *Last but not least, you can ask shop keepers, pet feed places and vets to display a small LiN poster. So you see, there are many ways that you can help us to help the labradors in need. We look forward to seeing some new faces across the groups

Please meet our gorgeous Trio, our latest Long Term Foster Dogs. Kasie, Ellie and Bailey Ellie and Bailey are both 11 and are fox Red. Both are quite timid. Kasie is a 12 year old black lab who has cataracts and is blind. Of the three, Kasie seems to be the most outgoing! She has lots of spirit and doesn't let her eyesight impair her lust for life. Ellie and Kasie are particularly close and although it seems like Ellie depends on Kasie, it may be that Kasie is as confident as she is because she has Ellie. It's been quite a struggle, but we are happy to announce that we have managed to rehome the 3 of them together. This was a huge achievement for our rehoming team, and we are so proud of the work they have all put in to keep these 3 together. Since moving to their new home, all three have had a mobile pamper session. They went to the vets recently for a health check. Their nails were clipped, ears treated and were weighed. They all need to gain around 7-10 kg so will be on a high protein diet. Bailey was booked in to have his teeth done. Smelling sweet, they look like different dogs. Today, the news isn't as positive. When Bailey was put under at the vets today, they were extremely shocked by the awful condition of his teeth. He had to have six teeth removed and he needs to go back for more extractions. He also has very severe gingivitis that has gone into his sinus bone. This must have been causing him much discomfort, and yet he is as sweet as can be. Today's and yesterday's vet bill was £668, £600 of which was for the dental work. We are expecting that again when he goes back. So far we have raised £1500 from your generous donations and fundraising, but Bailey's dental work will deplete most of their 'pot'. So we are once again focusing on the trio for our auction next week . (Please follow the link to our fb auction page). https://www.facebook.com/groups/1586538281583086/?ref=share We made the commitment to help them, no matter what, and they deserve to live in comfort not pain for whatever time they have left. If you don't want to bid on the auction, you can always purchase items for your dogs from our website or fb shop. Kasie, Bailey and Ellie are very fortunate to have a kind and compassionate long term foster mum who will do all she can to take the best care of them. Thank you Heather from all of us in LiNland.

Lovely Lucy's update and progress as written by her Mum. "Here’s our beautiful Lucy after her heart scan today ... what a good girl she was for the vet who didn’t even need to sedate her ... she just laid still on the table for 40 minutes while they shaved & scanned her! Thank you so so much to everyone who has donated towards Lucy, we’ll hopefully know the results of the scan next week 🐢" Without all your help by donating, buying products from our website and shop, or treating your own dogs in our auctions this wouldn’t have been possible πŸ’–πŸ’– so thank you for your continued support from all at LiN and Happy Easter to you all xx
